Department of Civil, Construction, and Environmental Engineering

Construction Engineering Undergraduate Major

As the largest (nearly 400 students) and top (according to the Gourman Report) construction engineering (ConE) program, you'll be prepared for a job right out of college.

In fact, in 2006, 97 percent of our graduates had jobs before they even graduated and earned an average of more than $48,000 right out of college.

Program of Study

We offer a Bachelor of Science degree in construction engineering.
You'll take different courses depending on which emphasis you choose:

  • building
  • heavy/highway
  • mechanical
  • electrical

You do not have to choose an emphasis until your fourth or fifth semester. By default, you'll be part of the building emphasis. Learn more about what construction engineers in each option do.
